ASUS PL30JT features Core i5, NVIDIA Optimus
ASUS for the first time showed off one of its latest business class laptops, the PL30JT, at CeBIT in Germany last week. The system is equipped with a 1.06GHz Intel Core i5 CPU, and what's more interesting, it supports the Optimus technology, developed by NVIDIA: it and uses both NVIDIA's 1GB GeForce 310M graphics chipset and Intel's integrated GMA HD graphics processor.
Hardware-wise, the 13.3-inch laptop features a 1366x768 resolution display and supports up to 4 GB of RAM. It will come with both glossy and matte displays. The hard drives on offer include 5,400RPM units up to 640GB in size or 7,200RPM disks in up to 500GB hard drives. It's worth noting that the system has no optical drive. That's why ASUS managed to keep its weight down to 3.8lbs and a thickness of less than one inch, although the Taiwanese company said that the laptop will ship with an 8-cell battery. According to ASUS, the battery is good for up to 10 hours of mobile operation. ASUS' Turbo33 technology promises to boost performance by as much as a third.
There's no word on pricing and exact release date for the PL30JT.
